Help us build a butterfly house!

Tax deductible
Help Friends of Hashawha Bear Branch build a butterfly house! As the first public butterfly house in Carroll County, this FHBB project will allow visitors to the park to learn more about native plants and pollinators!

Our Story
After applying for a self-help grant through the county, Friends of Hashawha Bear Branch received funds to build the structure of the butterfly house. It will be constructed on the site of the old farmhouse across the street from Bear Branch Nature Center. After going through the permitting process and pouring a foundation we are excited to announce that the structure has been built!

Next Steps
Our next fundraising goal is to raise money to build an ADA accessible sidewalk connecting the parking area and the structure. This project will cost around $5,000 and we cannot open the butterfly house without it. Following the construction of the structure, our volunteers will plant a native plant garden!
