We found a tiny blind calico kitten alone the day before the hurricane in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We worked hard to trap her and care for her during the storm until we could get her to a local vet. We’re both cat lovers and couldn’t leave her where she was. Since she couldn’t see and was on the lowest part of the beach, the staff said she would die if left there. We couldn’t let that happen, so we trapped her, but getting her healthy and transported to the U.S. is expensive, and we could use help.

We don’t know the final cost yet, but we were given estimates from the vet. She’s currently at the vet being boarded for two weeks until she can be flown to us. The owner of Coastal Cat Café (Pensacola, FL) and her husband found the cat and intend to bring her home for adoption — either at the cat café or while being fostered.

Your donation goes directly toward her care and travel. The vet quoted around $300 for her current treatment, boarding, vaccines, and health screening. It’ll cost another $200–$300 to transport her to Kingston for the required government paperwork before she can fly, and about $600–$1,000 to get her safely to the U.S. Once she’s home, we expect another $150–$200 for her spay, rabies vaccine, and follow-up vet visit. We’re estimating the total at $1,250–$1,800.
