Help Us Bring PURA Home — A Forever Home for Philadelphia’s Cowboy Culture.

Seven years ago, the world watched Philadelphia’s urban horse culture come to life through the Netflix film Concrete Cowboy.

But for us, this was never just a movie...
This is our real life.
Our community.
Our history.
Our future.
For seven years, Philadelphia Urban Riding Academy has fought to build a permanent home where Philadelphia’s cowboy culture can survive and thrive for generations to come.
Now, after years of setbacks, meetings, permits, fundraising, and relentless hard work — we are 95% complete.
The barn is finally becoming real.
But we are at the most critical moment of this entire journey.
We have less than ONE MONTH to raise $200,000 to fully outfit the facility and safely move our horses home.
These final funds will go directly toward:
* Safe fencing and paddocks
* Horse stalls and barn equipment
* Water infrastructure
* Electrical and lighting
*Horse Care
* Tack and feed storage
* Safety upgrades
* Essential supplies needed for daily horse care
* Final site preparation for our youth programs
This isn’t about luxury.
This is about finishing the job.
For years, our horses and program have operated without a permanent home while we fought to preserve a culture deeply rooted in Philadelphia history — a culture that has inspired people around the world.
PURA gives young people access to horses, mentorship, discipline, responsibility, and a safe place to belong. We have helped youth who never imagined they’d have the opportunity to ride, compete, or build confidence through horsemanship.
We are closer than we have ever been.
But right now, timing matters.
Every donation — large or small — pushes us closer to opening the gates and finally bringing PURA home.

If Concrete Cowboy inspired you, this is your chance to help protect the real legacy behind it.
Please donate, share, and help us cross the finish line.
