Hello everyone,
We are the Solis Hernandez family, and we’re going through an unexpected and difficult time. In early October, both of our parents were detained by ICE in Mecca, California, while on their way to work at around 6 a.m. They had stopped to buy bread at a meat market when two black trucks intercepted them, and they were aggressively forced to open their car doors and were then wrongfully detained. Our parents are currently being held in an ICE detention center, and we are now doing everything we can to bring them home and reunite our family.
Who are our parents?
Silvia and Jose are from Guanajuato, Mexico. They are two of the strongest and hardest-working people we know. For 28 years, they have worked in the fields in the United States, migrating to Bakersfield every summer and making ends meet. They have also provided jobs to other hardworking families in the Coachella Valley and crowdfunded thousands of dollars to help other families facing difficult times. They are kind, genuine people, and anyone who has met them can tell you the same.
We’re kindly asking for help covering the costs of the 2 immigration cases: including bond and legal fees. All donations will help pay for any bonds, consultations, filings, and attorney fees for both of our parents.
Any donation, large or small, would mean so much to our family. Sharing our fundraiser would also make a huge difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
The Solis Hernandez Family
