Help Us Lay Our Mother to Rest

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted people

Yesterday, July 27th, our family received the most devastating news: our beloved mother passed away unexpectedly. The pain of this loss is indescribable, and everything feels so surreal. If you knew her, you knew she was the matriarch of this family.

Life was never easy for her. She struggled, fought, and did everything she could with what little life gave her. She was a warrior in all it's senses, always worked hard to provide and protect her children, even if it meant making difficult and unpopular choices. She was feisty and we all had our difficulties and differences, but we are who we are in part because of her strength and determination.

Our mother came down with Dengue, then consequently got an infection in her leg. She was hospitalized and treated, cleared from both ailments, and was sent home to finish her recuperation. She was anxiously awaiting to get back to New York to her children and grandkids. But God had other plans for her. She was tired, her body and soul were tired, and ultimately, she took her last breath in our father's arms. Her perfect ending on this plane.

Our dear mother rests now!

Go be a joyful soul, free from pain (emotional and physical). We didn't say it often enough, but we love you endlessly and imperfectly!

We reach out to you all with our heavy hearts, asking for your support. This unexpected loss has left us unprepared for the expenses of bringing our mother home and laying her to rest where she settled over 50 years ago, New York. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the burden during this incredibly difficult time.

Ayúdenos a Darle Descanso a Nuestra Madre

Queridos amigos, familiares y conocidos!

Ayer, nuestra familia recibió la noticia más devastadora: nuestra querida madre falleció inesperadamente. El dolor de esta pérdida es indescriptible, y todo se siente tan irreal. Si la conocías, sabías que ella era la matriarca de esta familia.

La vida nunca fue fácil para ella. Luchó, se esforzó y hizo todo lo que pudo con lo poco que la vida le dio. Era una guerrera en todos los sentidos, siempre trabajando duro para proveer y sacar adelante a sus hijos, incluso si eso significaba tomar decisiones difíciles e impopulares. No era una mujer fácil de tratar; era de caracter fuerte y todos tuvimos nuestras dificultades y diferencias. Pero somos quienes somos en parte gracias a su fuerza y determinación.

Nuestra madre contrajo Dengue, y luego se infectó una herida en su pierna. Fue hospitalizada y tratada, superó ambas enfermedades y fue enviada a casa para terminar su recuperación. Estaba ansiosa por regresar a Nueva York con sus hijos y nietos. Pero Dios tenía otros planes para ella. Estaba cansada, su cuerpo y alma estaban cansados, y finalmente tomó su último aliento en los brazos de nuestro padre. Su final perfecto en este plano.

Ve a ser un alma alegre, libre de dolor (emocional y físico). No lo dijimos lo suficiente, pero te amamos infinitamente e imperfectamente.

Nos dirigimos a todos ustedes con el corazón pesado, pidiendo su apoyo. Esta pérdida inesperada nos ha dejado sin preparación para los gastos de traer a nuestra madre a casa y darle descanso donde se estableció hace más de 50 años, Nueva York.
