My boyfriend and I have been on a long and emotional journey trying to start a family. Becoming parents has always been one of our biggest dreams, and we have done everything we can to make that dream a reality.

Unfortunately, we face significant medical challenges. My boyfriend has cryptorchidism, which gives us only about a 0.0001% chance of conceiving naturally. On top of that, I have Hashimoto’s disease, which can make pregnancy more difficult and increases the risk of miscarriage. Because of this, I would need frequent doctor appointments, lab work, and careful medical monitoring throughout the entire pregnancy.

Despite these challenges, we haven’t given up. We’ve prayed, worked hard, and stayed hopeful. We’ve attended multiple doctor appointments, gone through infertility consultations, and done everything in our power to prepare for a baby. We’ve even created baby registries and started planning for the future we hope to have.

After exploring our options, we found a sperm donor that could help us finally have the chance to become parents. However, the cost is $1,500, and that is only the beginning. There will also be additional medical expenses for fertility treatments, labs, and ongoing care because of the risk factors that come with being pregnant.
