Help Us Bring Nika the Stray Puppy to France for a New Life

Hi everyone,

We are a French couple currently on vacation in Petrovac, Montenegro.

On the very first evening of our arrival, we met a puppy who immediately started following us. She is incredibly friendly and joyful, and she hasn’t left our side since that day. We’ve been feeding her, gave her a bath to remove fleas, and provided deworming medication. We named her Nika.

We took her to a veterinarian, who estimates her age at around 4 months. She appears to be a mix of Malinois and German Shepherd (probably a bit smaller).

Our wish is to bring her to France, where she will have a much better chance of being adopted. Once in France, we will try to work with a French animal rescue association so that she can enter a proper adoption process and find the loving family she deserves.

Unfortunately, we cannot take her with us right now, as she is not yet vaccinated and does not meet European regulations. She will need to stay for several weeks (or possibly a few months) in a foster home in Montenegro until all her medical care and paperwork are completed.

The costs we anticipate are significant:

• Medical care (vaccinations, tests, sterilization, etc.): around €300

• Boarding/foster care until she is ready to travel: 300€/month, around €1800 total

• Transportation to France (she will need to be accompanied): around €300

This is the minimum amount we expect, but as she comes from the street, we fear additional expenses may arise.

If we are lucky enough to raise more than Nika’s costs, every extra euro will go directly to local shelters in Montenegro to help other dogs like her.
