It is with unimaginable heartbreak that I share that we have suddenly lost my mom. Writing this doesn’t even feel real. She was one of the most loving, selfless, and compassionate people I have ever known. My mom had a heart that was always open to everyone. She helped anyone who needed it, even people she had never met before. If someone was hurting, she was the first person to show up and be the shoulder they could lean on.
She was full of life, laughter, and kindness, and she touched so many people just by being who she was.
The person who is would be hurting the most from this loss is my 7 year old little sister. She is nonverbal and relied on my mom for everything. Losing her mother so suddenly must be so incredibly confusing and heartbreaking for her. Right now, she needs stability, care, and support more than ever.
Because of the unexpected circumstances surrounding my mom’s passing, my little sister currently has very little. Our family is doing everything we can to come together and make sure she has what she needs and feels safe and supported during this incredibly difficult time.
One of my biggest wishes is to bring my mom home to California from New York so she can be laid to rest where she belongs and where our family can properly say goodbye.
We are asking for help to cover the costs of:
• Bringing my mom home to California
• Funeral and cremation arrangements
• Travel expenses for our family
• Immediate necessities for my 7 year old sister
• Supporting her care and needs during this transition
My mom spent her entire life helping others and never asking for anything in return. She had the kind of soul that made people feel loved, supported, and understood.
Now, during the hardest moment our family has ever faced, we are asking for help to honor her life and make sure her little girl is taken care of.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will mean the world to our family. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would help more than you know.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
With love and gratitude,
Nicol
