My mom, Beverly Loveless, is having severe health issues. She was doing great until she fell on May 23 and broke her femur, requiring a partial hip replacement. Since then, she has been back to the hospital 3 times, is having memory and cognitive issues, and is now once again in rehab. This time she will not be allowed to go home and live alone.

Since she lost her husband of 69 years a year ago, Mom has been focused on her home and her dog, Sammy. Staying in a nursing home would be devastating for her. We very much want her to come and live in our home. We have a small building that has been converted to an efficiency apartment with a roll-in shower, a fenced yard for Sammy, and a wheelchair-accessible ramp. She could bring some of her own things, keep Sam with her, and still maintain much of her privacy, but be with us where we can care for and nurture her.

We began to clean out the building this week after years of using it for storage only. Unfortunately, since the "Big Freeze" and broken pipes of February 2021 and the tornado that hit Clarksville in November of 2022, we found that the building is in very bad shape. The roof has been leaking badly and needs to be replaced. The mini-split heat pump/AC no longer works and must be replaced. Water inside one wall caused the exterior siding to rot. Flooring inside needs to be replaced.

We have maybe a couple of weeks to get this done before Mom's insurance ends her stay at rehab. She will have no place to go.

We have started some of the repairs, but money is tight. My husband is a disabled veteran fighting cancer and can only do so much on his own. We need help getting this building ready for Mom. We are asking for help from her church family and others who have known and loved her all her life. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
