Hi, I'm Mohammad, a Palestinian filmmaker and film student at ESCAC in Barcelona. I'm raising funds to produce Lailac, a short film close to my heart.
Lailac tells the story of a young girl, Laila, who escapes the war in Gaza and arrives in Barcelona with only a postcard from her father as her guide. Lost in a new city, she begins a deeply emotional journey of healing and rediscovery. The film explores themes of war trauma, identity, migration, and the quiet strength of those who survive and carry on.
This story matters. It sheds light on the inner struggles many displaced people face and highlights the often unseen emotional impact of war, especially on children.
Dear supporter,
LAILAC is a film that invites you to feel the quiet aftermath, to step inside the disorientation of safety, the weight of memory, and the strange tenderness of a city that doesn’t know your name. It’s a story about grounding after survival. About what we carry, even when we’ve left.
If you believe cinema can hold more than story — if it can hold truth — LAILAC is that moment.
