Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you know we are due to PCS soon. Unfortunately, the past year we have hit road block after road block with little to no help.
January of 2020 when Tyler re-enlisted he was informed we would be going to Vogelweh in Germany when his time was up here in the UK in December of 2021. At the time we were super excited and started researching a reliable vehicle to purchase that would get our entire family there (Koda of course included). I was working as a contractor on base and we decided to take the jump and purchase a Toyota RAV4 through MAS.
Then in March of 2021 I was sexually assaulted by a UK contractor who unfortunately had a long time friendship with the line manager who was friends with the contract manager. So instead of getting the Justice and help I would have received stateside I was thrown to the wolves. The company was allowed to investigate itself and the base had to sit by and offer me mental health help which I sought because I was and still am not in the best place. Not knowing this would end up hurting us in the long run. i left my position at the company because it wasn’t healthy.
We were then made aware September time frame that I was EFMP due to the mental health help I had decided to seek. So we began that process only to find out that our information and paperwork was mishandled. Then on top of this Tyler deployed to Ramstein and we were put on hold. Please keep in mind the man who assaulted me is still working on this base. Koda was a very big part of helping me feel safe while Tyler was gone.
When Tyler finally was able to return we were told that due to EFMP Ramstein and Vogelweh could not support the mental health help I needed. This was a huge blow to us. Not only was Tyler no longer able to go to the base he has always wanted to be stationed at, but we were stuck here at this base longer. We tried to fight and appeal this decision.
please keep in mind if we would have known anything like this could happen we would have saved the money and not purchased the car but used those savings to ship our dog and family member back stateside. Covid has not only double but tripled the cost of flying pets Oconus to Conus and Vice Versa. What makes it even worse is that even though we have to leave the country by the end of the month we still don’t have orders.
Most if not all of these grants require we have orders in hand and have a very strict time frame on them. Koda has been with us since January 2018 and is a major part of our family. He knows when my depression or anxiety is at a bad point and will come and lay his head on me to help me realize I’m not alone and I really need that.
thank you so much for the time you took to read this and any help you can spare.
