We’re Erik and Esther, a brother-and-sister team from the Kawartha Lakes who grew up on the water — sailing, racing, repairing, and dreaming. For as long as we can remember, the lake was our classroom, our playground, and our compass.
This year, we launched Kinship of the Currents, a small Canadian yacht-delivery and captain-for-hire service built on passion, skill, and grit. We don’t come from money or corporate backers — just decades of experience, calloused hands, and a deep love for boats and the people who own them.
Now we’ve been offered something incredible:
a chance to represent our brand at the Toronto International Boat Show — Canada’s largest marine event. This is the big leagues, where brokers, marinas, and sailors from across the country gather. It could change everything for us.
But here’s the truth:
starting a marine business from scratch is tough. Insurance, licensing, transport — it all adds up fast. We’ve put everything we have into getting this off the dock, but the show fees, signage, and travel costs are more than we can manage alone.
That’s where you come in.
If you’ve ever rooted for the little guy — the family business, the dreamers who refuse to quit — we need you at our backs.
Your contribution helps us cover:
⚓ Booth rental and registration
⚓ Travel, materials, and signage
⚓ Our chance to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the big names and say, “We belong here too.”
Every donation helps us take another step toward making Kinship of the Currents a household name in Canadian boating.
If you can’t donate, please share this story. Every share sends our sails a little higher.
We believe small crews with big hearts can still make waves.
Thank you for helping us chart this next course.
With love and gratitude,
Erik & Esther Hoflick
