Today, I come to you with a heart-wrenching plea for assistance, as my family navigates through one of the most challenging and emotionally draining times we've ever faced. Our story is one of love, resilience, and the unyielding bonds that hold families together, even in the face of overwhelming adversity.

In April 2023, our lives took an unexpected turn when my parents and in-laws arrived in Australia on a Visitor Visa to attend our wedding. Little did we know that this joyous occasion would soon be overshadowed by a medical emergency that tested our strength and resources to the limit.

Just one day after their arrival, my beloved grandmother fell seriously ill. She was rushed to Bankstown Hospital, where the medical team diagnosed her with a Left Middle Cerebral Artery Infarct (STROKE) accompanied by haemorrhagic transformation and bilateral pulmonary embolisms. This devastating diagnosis left her with complete weakness, unable to move her right side, and she has been in the hospital ever since.

Due to the stroke, she can only remember fragments of her life, and even those are covered in confusion and loss. The pain of seeing her struggle to recall her own family's faces, the joyous moments we've shared, and the love that binds us together is a heavy burden we carry each day.

What's more, the stroke has robbed her of her ability to speak. She's trapped within her own mind, unable to communicate her needs, thoughts, or feelings. She's lost in a world of silence, and the profound frustration and isolation she experiences is palpable.

To ensure her safety and well-being, two dedicated caregivers are required to watch over her, providing round-the-clock assistance. It's heartbreaking to witness the sheer magnitude of care she needs, knowing that we must do everything within our power to bring her back home, where her heart can find solace and her healing journey can begin.

Our latest concern arose when we inquired with the hospital about potential out-of-pocket expenses we might need to cover. The hospital advised us to consult with our insurance company regarding coverage, explaining that they would submit the claims only upon her discharge.

Regrettably, our insurance provider has informed us that they will only cover the minimum benefits, which amount to approximately $300 per day. This revelation came as a shock to us, as we had believed that admission and bed charges were fully covered. Despite providing the hospital with an approval letter from HCF Insurance, it seems that the estimated costs will exceed AUD 250,000 (after the INSURANCE CLAIM).

We are now faced with the overwhelming burden of these hospital costs, and this is where we turn to you, our friends, family, and compassionate supporters, for help. We've created this GoFundMe campaign with the hope of bridging the financial gap left by insurance and bringing our beloved grandmother back to her home country, where she can receive the care and support, she needs to recover.
