Help Us Bring Freddie Home Safely From NICU

Donation protected
Our lives changed forever when our son, Freddie, was born at just 28 weeks on 8th November 2025.

After my waters broke prematurely at 20 weeks (PPROM), we lived with uncertainty and fear for weeks. Then, due to a placental abruption, Freddie was born far too early and rushed to NICU, where he has been fighting bravely ever since.

Freddie has shown incredible strength, but his early arrival has led to Chronic Lung Disease of Prematurity, meaning he will require medical oxygen 24 hours a day when he is able to come home.

Freddie was also born with a cleft lip and palate, which requires specialist care. Because of his cleft palate, he cannot feed safely by mouth and will need a feeding tube until he is able to undergo corrective surgeries as he grows.

Before Freddie can be discharged, he must reach 5kg to safely use his home oxygen equipment. He is currently 4.2kg and growing stronger every day, bringing us closer to the moment he can finally come home.

Doctors have explained that he can only be discharged once we have a home environment that is safe and suitable for his medical needs. At the moment, our home does not meet the requirements needed to safely care for an oxygen-dependent baby.
The ongoing travel to visit Freddie in NICU, along with parking, fuel, meals, and time away from work, has also placed a significant financial strain on our family during this already difficult time.

To keep Freddie safe at home, we need:

  • Space for oxygen equipment and safe storage
  • Clear walkways to prevent tubing hazards
  • Proper ventilation and fire safety precautions
  • A clean environment to reduce infection risk
  • Room for monitoring, feeding, and daily medical care

Freddie also has three loving sisters at home who adore their baby brother and are waiting for the day he can finally come home to them. To safely support Freddie’s care while providing space for our family, we must move to a larger 4-bedroom home.

We are raising funds to help cover:
  • Rental deposit and rent in advance
  • Moving and relocation costs
  • Safety preparations required for home oxygen use
  • Essential furnishings and safe sleeping arrangements
  • Creating a clean and safe space for his recovery

Asking for help is incredibly difficult. But after everything Freddie has fought through, bringing him home safely to his sisters and family is all that matters to us.
Every donation and every share brings us one step closer to finally having Freddie home, where he belongs.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

With love and gratitude,

Rebecca, Marc, Oaklie, Phoebie and Callie x
