Just over three months ago, a team of emerging filmmakers set out into the middle of Red Hill to create Dustlands - a 12-part web series written by Jack Hayes and Isobel Kilmartin, and directed by Finegan Sampson.

Through the incredible commitment of the cast and crew Dustlands is now in its final stages of post-production and is almost ready to be released into the world.

We’re now asking for your help to get it across the finish line.

Your donation will go directly towards the remaining post-production costs, including sound design, sound mixing and the press release - the final pieces needed to give the project the polish it deserves and catapult the series into the world.

Every contribution, big or small, will be greatly received and will help support a new wave of emerging filmmakers, allowing us to reveal the story of Dustlands to an audience worldwide.

The Story

After a chance hookup, a lonely dealer and a grieving carer are pulled into a quiet criminal underworld as secrets tied to someone close to them begin to unravel.

Created by Jack Hayes and written by Jack Hayes and Isobel Kilmartin, Dustlands is a character-driven thriller made for a vertical format (social media), with the aim of bringing a more grounded, cinematic style of storytelling into a space that’s often dominated by melodrama.

The series prioritises tension, restraint, and performance-led storytelling over spectacle.

We’ve come this far thanks to an incredible group of people who believed in the project and gave their time, talent and energy to make it happen. Now we just need one final push to get Dustlands finished and in front of your eyes.
