Help Us Bring Derek Home
Donation protected
On June 30th, 2020, my father Derek Wilson was brutally murdered in Los Angeles, California in a senseless act of violence. My dad was sitting in his car, looking at his phone, when a gunman approached his car and fired 11 shots, at least 5 of them hitting him. Investigators believe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that he was the innocent victim of a gang retaliating against rival gang members.
My dad was the funniest person you'd ever meet, and had a heart of gold. He also made the best pancakes, though he would never give us the secret to how he got them so perfect. He was so loved, and he loved us all in return, especially his children.
While also struggling to come to terms with the incomprehensible violence that robbed us of him, we are also now tasked with providing the funds to bring his remains home to Chicago from Los Angeles in addition to paying for funeral and burial costs. We are in need of help.
Please help us bring my daddy home to say goodbye to him one last time.
