This morning our family suffered an unexpected and unfathomable loss. This gentle soul, Dante, is a son, a love, a best friend, a brother, a grandchild and a friend to everyone. You can't help but love this young man, with his kind and giving heart, warm smile and quick wit. He hadn't been feeling well over the past couple of weeks, just kind of out of sorts, but he still got up every day and went off to work with that smile and his can do, will do attitude. A couple of days ago, he went to work and called to come and get him, he just didn't feel good. We knew something was wrong. That wasn't like him. After getting him home, he was resting but not feeling much better. By late that evening, his breathing was labored, his words were unintelligible and we finally talked him into going up to the hospital. After a few hours in the ER, he was transferred to the ICU. Lily and Gracie spent the day with him, talking and laughing, he was in good spirits, but still very tuckered out. They left the ICU, only because the hospital wouldn't let them stay any longer. He needed his rest anyway. In the early morning hours, we were notified that his vitals had crashed, they were able to bring him back and stabilize him. All was well for about an hour and it happened again. The attempts to bring him back were unsuccessful.

The seconds, minutes and hours since then are different. Everything is different.

We lost our selfless, brave, adorable and kind Dante.

Our goal here is to help offset the cost involved with funeral expenses and transportation back to Maryland.
