It is with great sadness I even share the passing of my father. He unfortunately passed away this past weekend very unexpectedly. At this time I do not have full details as we are waiting for answers from the autopsy. Now the hardest part comes navigating the next steps. As his oldest child I know I need to bring my Dad home for my siblings and I to be able to say our final goodbyes. We were all very blind sided Sunday when we got the news.

Our father didn’t have life insurance and now we’re left trying to figure out how to bring him home for not just us but the rest of his friends and family here in NY as well to say our final goodbyes. For those that don’t know Dad was truly living his best life being a “snow bird”enjoying the winters and spring in the beautiful sunshine state (FL) then returning home to NY where his children and grandchildren all were for the summer. He got to have the best of both worlds. Unfortunately this means the costs are a little higher for funeral expenses.

I want to be open to what the funds are going to since we are asking for your help. Our plan is to bring him home for us to see him for the closure we need and then to have him cremated after the services and separated for each of his children and his mother to take where ever we may go. I will be very open and honest where funds need to go without giving specific numbers.

We need to pay for the funeral home and their services in FL, we need to pay for the transportation service as well as what he will be traveling in. Once he is here we then need to pay for all of the services here in NY as well as urns for each of us and we don’t have an actual price on all of the things just yet so I’ve just thrown out what I think it’s going to be based off of different conversations I’ve had. I should have a better idea in the next few days. Which I will update our actual goal to. I’ve put in Friday Jan 17th as service dates THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL SERVICE DATES!!!! I can’t make this without putting a date and I’m not 100% sure when I will need to pay for things but again I will update as soon as I know things. Things are a little more complicated with him being in another state and a lot of puzzle pieces needing to be put together.

We as a family appreciate all the love and support we have received just over the last 2 days. Thank you will never be enough. I find some comfort knowing just how many people he’s touched and brought so much happiness to. I know my Dad was an amazing man and loved by so many.
