Help Bring Chez Johnson Home

My name is Yulonda, and I am writing this with a heart that is completely shattered. On January 16, 2026, my beloved son, Chez Johnson, unexpectedly passed away while in Cancun, Mexico. No parent is ever prepared to write words like this, and the pain of losing my child is something I never imagined I would have to endure.

Chez was so much more than a son — he was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a loving, gentle spirit, a smile that could instantly brighten a room, and a way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Chez brought joy wherever he went. His laughter was contagious, his heart was pure, and his presence left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He truly loved people, and people deeply loved him in return.

Right now, our family is facing the unimaginable task of bringing Chez home to Maryland, where he belongs — surrounded by family, love, and the community that helped shape the beautiful person he became. The cost of international repatriation is overwhelming, and during this time of grief, we are asking for help.
