Help Us Bring Cathy’s Place to Life

My name is Joshua, and I’m working toward opening a restaurant that means more to me than just food. It’s called Cathy’s Place, named after my Meema, for grandmother.

Growing up, my Meema’s kitchen was the heart of everything. It was where family gathered, stories were shared, and everyone no matter who they were had a seat at the table. Her cooking was simple, comforting, and full of love. That feeling is the inspiration behind Cathy’s Place.

The concept is something very close to my heart: Polish comfort food meets Mediterranean style. Imagine warm, soulful dishes inspired by traditional Polish cooking. Pierogi, hearty meats, comforting flavors paired with the brightness and energy of Mediterranean ingredients, wine, herbs, and shared plates. The goal is a place that feels nostalgic but also fresh, modern, and welcoming.

Cathy’s Place will be a cozy, affordable restaurant where the lighting is warm, the food is honest, and the experience feels like you’re sitting at someone’s home table.

Before we can open the restaurant itself, we’re starting with a series of pop-up dinners and community events over the next few years. These pop-ups will allow us to refine the menu, build a community around the concept, and grow the dream step by step before opening a permanent location.
