Our family has been facing an incredibly challenging time. I recently gave birth to our son, Chase, and for the past two weeks, we've been by his side in the NICU. The closest NICU to our home is in Medford, which is nearly three hours away from Crescent City. Being so far from home while caring for our newborn has been both emotionally and logistically overwhelming.

On top of everything, my husband Austin has been traveling back and forth to Crescent City for job interviews over the last couple of weeks, trying to secure work for our family. The unexpected distance means we've had to stay in Medford, away from the comfort of our own home and support network. We haven't been able to cook or meal-prep, so we've been relying on takeout and hospital food, which adds up quickly. The cost of transportation and the worry about keeping up with our rent back home have been weighing heavily on us. The uncertainty of when Chase will be well enough to come home makes it even harder to plan or feel at ease.
