Help Bring ADHD Parent Training to El Paso Families

Donation protected
We’re two licensed therapists here in El Paso, and we both have a personal connection to ADHD. Whether through our own lived experiences or through parenting, we’ve seen the highs, the chaos, the misunderstandings, and the strength that come with neurodivergence. It’s not just something we treat professionally. It’s something we live and deeply care about.

Every week, we work with families who are doing their best but feel overwhelmed, isolated, or even blamed when their child struggles with focus, emotions, or behavior. Too often, ADHD goes misunderstood, and so do the families trying to navigate it.

That’s why we’re raising funds to bring a bilingual, culturally responsive ADHD parent training program to El Paso. We're starting with a Spanish-language group to meet an urgent need in our Hispanic community, where these kinds of resources are often hard to find or not available at all.

The program we’re launching is called El Faro (The Lighthouse). It was developed by El Futuro in collaboration with the Duke University ADHD Program and is built specifically for Latino families. El Faro is an 8-class course that blends behavioral strategies with cultural understanding. It helps parents reduce stress, feel more confident, and connect more meaningfully with their kids.

Our first fundraising goal is $6,000, which will cover:

Curriculum licensing and translation

Anything raised beyond that will help:

Pay facilitators (us and our amazing interns) to run the group

Cover outreach and materials so families can participate without financial stress

This project is not being run through our private practices or a nonprofit. We’re two professionals who saw a big need in our community and were introduced to this incredible program. We hope to build something lasting and eventually grow this into a nonprofit effort. Right now, we’re simply taking the first step.

I also serve as the coordinator for CHADD El Paso (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), a local chapter of a national nonprofit. While this project isn’t affiliated with CHADD, my work there has shown me how critical it is to provide ADHD support that speaks to culture, language, and lived experience, especially for Spanish-speaking families.

If you believe in empowering parents, supporting neurodivergent kids, and building access to mental health care in our community, we’d love your support. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply cheering us on, thank you for helping us make this happen.

With gratitude,
