Help build a sustainable future for Naweni village

The connection:

It’s rare that a kindred spirit -someone who shares your beliefs, ideals and philosophies -walks into your life and makes an almost immediate, positive impact. Enter Sete a charismatic Fijian with a deep love for his land, his ocean, and his people.

Sete is a passionate environmentalist, a natural leader, and a radiant soul who gives selflessly to everyone around him. We bonded instantly—through snorkeling, spearfishing, meaningfully conversation, and shared values around family, connection, sustainability, and culture. Before long, we were referring to each other as brothers from a different mother.

Sete has been taking the guests from our house to his village of Naweni where he grew up. This is his domain, a place that nurtured him growing up, giving him that connectivity to family and the pristine environment that surrounds Naweni village.

The vision:

The goal is to create sustainable, community-led tourism experiences that generate long-term income for Naweni village while protecting the natural environment and strengthening cultural connection.

The project aims to:

* establish a Bure and workshop on a village island beach dedicated to coral restoration, marine education and conservation projects.
*build a tourism pavilion to welcome guests arriving to the village.
* create a coastal walk linking beaches, headlands, mangroves and islands together.
*purchasing kayaks for guided excursions through mangroves, reefs, lagoons and surrounding islands.
* develop organic farming systems to help support food sustainability and tourism experiences.
* strengthen tourism links with surrounding villages to create broader community opportunities.
* network and apply for funding for larger projects that help infrastructure in the village for example clean water supply and bridge.
*acquiring glamping tents and composting toilets that allow for low impact tourism experiences

This is not about large scale development or luxury resorts. It is about living lightly on the earth, preserving culture and environment, and creating meaningful experiences that benefit local families.

How you can help:

We’re raising money to support the initial infrastructure and essentials:

*coral farm nursery equipment and deployment.
* Composting toilets & water collection
* Solar lighting and basic kitchen facilities
* Building simple, off-grid bungalows/bures out of natural materials and setting up canvas cotton glamping tents.
* Garden and food systems setup including animals ( chicken, pigs, goats for alternate food supply, manure for organic vegetables, keeping grass and weeds cut without use of brush cutters.
* Support from local trades and materials for project.
* equipment liking glamping tents, tents, kayaks can provide funds for the village buy giving tourists meaningful experiences.

Why it matters:

In a world moving too fast, this special island paradise is a place to slow down, reconnect, and remember what truly matters. This is your chance to help protect a sacred piece of Fiji while empowering local communities to thrive.

Be part of the story:

Whether you give $10 or $1,000, your support brings us one step closer to making this dream a reality. Together, we can build something beautiful—rooted in respect, love, and sustainability. We are also aiming to document the evolution of the project with filming in a documentary format, with a connection to ocean theme.

“Veiwekani” (the name of our house) in Fijian means relationship and connection—with each other, with the land, with the ocean, and with spirit. This is what this project is all about. How everything and everyone are interconnected. We are excited to see this come together and flourish.

We are keen to raise some capital and then also apply for some upcoming farming and sustainable tourism grants
