A Brief Summary of Noah’s Journey
Over the past many months, our family has walked through an intense and deeply refining journey as Noah has battled a rare and aggressive cancer. RMC
What began with the shock of diagnosis quickly turned into a long road of chemotherapy, hospital stays, and difficult decisions. Cycle after cycle, we watched Noah endure the physical toll of treatment weakness, loss of appetite, exhaustion while also witnessing his remarkable resilience and courage.
Along the way, God showed us glimpses of His mercy. Scans began to improve. Tumors shrank. At one point, there was even no visible tumor found during surgery, and pathology reports showed no viable cancer. We experienced moments where it truly felt like victory was at hand like we were nearing the end of the battle.
Yet the journey did not end there.
Complications arose infected ports, delayed healing, difficult scan results, and new concerns that forced us to continually adjust course. We found ourselves living in the tension between hope and uncertainty, learning to trust God not just for outcomes, but for daily strength.
There were also profound moments of grace:
Times of rest from treatment, moments of joy as Noah reconnected with friends and family, and the overwhelming support of a community that carried us in prayer, love, and practical care.
Most recently, just as we felt we were on the brink of declaring victory, we received the difficult news that the cancer had spread to Noah’s brain. This has led us into a new and unexpected chapter—one marked by surgery, renewed treatment, and deeper dependence on God than ever before.
Through it all, one truth has remained steady:
Our hope has not been in clear scans, successful treatments, or favorable outcomes—
but in the unchanging character of God.
We have learned that His faithfulness is not proven by the absence of suffering, but by His presence within it. In our weakness, He has been our strength. In our uncertainty, He has been our peace. And in every step whether in joy or sorrow He has continued to sustain us.
This journey is not finished, but it is a living testimony of God’s grace, mercy, and faithfulness in the midst of the fire.
