My name is Maribel Martinez. I am a teacher and mother battling breast cancer. In 2006, I was diagnosed with a carcinoma insitu in my left breast. One year later, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I decided to have a bilateral radical mastectomy followed by reconstruction. Ten years later, the cancer has returned in stage 3. It is not easy to go through this process, mentally, emotionally or physically. There is a high cost associated with the medicine, medical exams and treatment.
