Update: Moxie Needs Care Now Too

This fundraiser began to help us care for Kona in her final days — and because of your incredible support, we were able to give her the goodbye she deserved. We’re forever grateful.

Now, Moxie needs care too.

She’s been experiencing intense reverse sneezing fits — long, sudden episodes that leave her struggling to breathe. After multiple vet visits, she’s scheduled to go under anesthetic next week so her doctors can investigate the cause and figure out how to help her.

We’ve updated the fundraiser title to reflect this new chapter. Moxie joined our family two years ago and shared a sweet bond with Kona during that time. She and Purrogi have brought new energy to the N2 Cat Crew — and we want to give her every chance to feel healthy and happy again.

We’re keeping this fundraiser open for anyone who wants to help support Moxie’s care. There’s no expectation — just an open door for those who feel moved to be part of this journey with us.

Hi everyone,

It’s VersaBC and I’m writing this with a heavy heart.

Kona — our cute, loud, funny, loving Siamese kitty — has just been diagnosed with aggressive cancer. She’s 16 years old and already living with skin allergies, high blood pressure, and kidney disease. Since mid-February, she’s lost a full pound. We’ve started her on steroids just to try and help her feel better and hold on a little longer.

Many of you have known Kona for a long time. She started as the sassy sidekick to N2 the Talking Cat, one of the internet’s earliest feline stars. When N2 passed from cancer in 2014, Kona carried on their legacy with Bo when he joined the family and we became N2 Cat Crew.

Kona didn’t warm up to Bo at first — she rejected him for nearly a year. But then, something shifted. They became best friends. They would play fight, snuggle, groom each other, and share a bond that felt unbreakable. Bo had the sweetest meows and was adored by fans too. Tragically, we lost Bo suddenly in 2023 to a stroke.

Since then, Kona has stayed strong. Still sassy. Still sweet. Still full of life.

In 2023, we adopted two more Siamese girls — Moxie and Purrogi. Moxie connected with Kona right away. Purrogi took longer, but over the past few months, even she has grown close. They know something is wrong. They stay near her now, quietly comforting her in their own way.

This fundraiser isn’t for treatment. It’s for time.

Time to take off work.

Time to be with Kona every moment.

Time to give her the loving, peaceful goodbye she deserves.

Time to share her final days with the people who have loved her for over a decade.
