My name is Kaidince Edwards, and my dad, Justin Edwards, was in a roll over accident in his semi truck on January 8th, 2026. He is currently fighting for his life on a ventilator in Texas, while we fight for a way to be with him while he heals. The majority of our family lives in Missouri, so being with him right now is very difficult.

My dad was the only one involved in the accident. We were told he hit a median, resulting in his truck flipping. In his accident, my dad suffered from a lacerated spleen and broken ribs on the left side of his sternum, which resulted in a punctured lung. Because his lung was punctured, he also has a partially collapsed lung and is mostly reliant on a ventilator. At the time of writing this, the ventilator is doing 70% of his breathing, while my dad is only able to do 30%. He is awaiting surgery on his ribs to fix any that were broken, and hopefully alleviate some pressure off of his chest so breathing is less painful. He has to do around 50% of the breathing himself, as well as break a fever he developed yesterday, January 9th, 2026.
