Recently, our mother was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma. It was not caught early, and everything has been moving very fast. She has been transferred to University of Southern California where a whole team of specialists are prepping for her upcoming surgery this week. The surgery is complicated and very invasive, and recovery will be considerable. This is where we could use your help.

Because the surgery and several recovery days will be down south, extra expenses outside of medical are building. There are multiple of us who need to go down to Southern California and back at different times over the next several days, which means gas, food, and motels for anywhere from 3- 5 days minimum depending on how well things go. Possibly longer. Thankfully, because we are a large family we have many hands and feet able to help, but not much in regards to funds for the travel and any unforeseen things we may need to buy for mom’s recovery. This came on very fast and has required several of us to take time off work.

Additionally we are a bit unsure as to how much we are looking at in medical bills when it’s all said and done, as well as immediate future oncology care. So anything we don’t use for travel needs this week will go towards all of those.
