My husband, Matt, and I, along with our two beloved cats, are facing an incredibly difficult moment. Six months ago, Matt—an experienced game designer—was laid off, and despite his best efforts, he has not been able to find steady work since. I, Taula, am permanently disabled with a degenerative genetic condition and can only work sporadically. Our savings have run out, and as of tomorrow, 02/05/26, we will be leaving our apartment to stay at a hotel to avoid having an eviction on our record and racking up further debt to the apartment complex. Matt has potential contract work starting Monday, but he won't be paid until the end of the month. We are behind on rent and at risk of homelessness. We are doing everything we can to find new opportunities, but time has run out and we need help to get through this emergency.
