Help Us Avoid Eviction and Rebuild Our Lives

Donation protected
After one of the hardest years we've encountered, we are faced with yet another mountain. We've been trying our best to keep everything afloat, but it's been crashing down on us. We have been doing our best to keep up with all the bills and living expenses, but we are now facing eviction.

It began when we got home last May after telling my best friend of almost 50 years goodbye. We got home to the hottest summer ever and finding the air conditioner in the car blown and needing to be completely replaced. Of course, that hasn't happened because other living expenses are more important. A few weeks later, I lost my best friend and went back for her memorial service on her birthday a year ago.

Six months after losing my best friend to brain cancer, I experienced a health wake-up call. On top of my existing fibromyalgia, I am now dealing with type 2 diabetes along with other issues. I'm grateful for my doctor catching it when she did and starting the medication in January. Of course, as it would happen, all of the new medicines are on the most expensive tier. I'm so thankful for insurance because if I didn't have insurance, one of the prescriptions alone is $1200 a month. Along with all of the new medication, I've been focused on a healthier diet, which added to already overwhelming expenses. I have made great progress in my health journey this year, and I am so grateful for that.

Meghan has two classes left before she finishes her master's degree. Her laptop crashed at the end of March. She already had her 1st laptop crash in undergrad a couple of years before. She's been hobbling through these last few months of grad school with a Chromebook and iPad mini making it work the best she can. She's been working diligently on her craft, career skills, education, and job search, all while juggling freelance opportunities. Another way to help would be to commission an art piece from her.

It just seems like we can't catch a break no matter how hard we are trying. I have had many friends say they would help if they had the money (which I appreciate so much!). Then a friend said if many people helped a little bit, you'd be able to do it. You should try. So, here I am. Anything is appreciated, even your thoughts and prayers!
