This is the last thing I ever, and I mean ever, wanted this to come to.

Me (19) and my mom (56) have been living in a one-bedroom apartment, sharing the space for nearly five years. I don’t have an issue with the arrangement, nor did I have an issue with the fact that this was the way things were. We’ve always been lower class, not in what I would classify as serious poverty and certainly never homeless, but always cutting costs and barely getting by. We’re at the end of the line and homelessness has always loomed over my life like a promise slowly inching closer to coming to fruition.

Recently, due to rising costs of everything and a mix of my mom not having a job over the summer, things began to snowball downhill further. Even with me working near daily at my current job, which is a lot for me because of my medical conditions and because my job is active, we are in IMMINENT danger of being evicted within the next few days. This is short notice, beyond so, and anything would help. I just don’t want to end up on the streets. I don’t want to have to surrender my geckos and struggle to find a place for all of our things until we can get back on our feet. I don’t want to have to get rid of heirlooms and possessions that mean so much to me after years of treading water.

I have diagnosed MDD, ADHD, and a general anxiety disorder that makes this all even harder, along with POTS and celiac disease. I’ve attempted at ending my life many times during my struggles with these things, only recently have I felt alive again. I don’t want to go back to that dark place.

I don’t want to be a beggar, I don’t want to have to depend on this, but as of right now this is my lifeline and there is nothing else I can currently do.
