Hello,

My name is Angela Kahler-Fisette, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family (The Tilicea's) during an incredibly difficult time. I'm going to share with you a snip of the situation. Stay with me, it's a lot. This all came about starting 6/6/25.

My Aunt and Uncle, Tom and Wendy Tilicea, and their 2 special needs adopted children, recently moved back from Georgia to Michigan hoping to get a new start. With very little money or resources, they moved in with my other Uncle, John, just to stay afloat. Sadly, my Uncle Tom has been in and out of the hospital since their arrival. This last trip was due to a fall. Not long after, Wendy was admitted to the ICU with neglected pneumonia, uncontrolled diabetes, and renal failure. Then, as luck would have it, Uncle John also went in with exacerbated COPD, whole body pain, and unexplained fatigue. All three of them were all in the hospital at once!

Note: There are only two of us left: myself (single mom working FT with 2 small kids), and my mom (a 76yr old retiree).

Tragically, my aunt passed away. She suffered several heart failures and eventually could not be saved. We are working on her cremation and family notifications. Her ashes will remain with my Uncle Tom.

Tom continues to face long-term health issues and will remain in the hospital, or a Rehab Facility for care until further notice.

My Uncle John has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver failure and has also been notified that it has metastasized everywhere. He has been released from the hospital to his home with OT, PT, and nursing care, plus my mom is helping wherever she can.

With everything happening so suddenly, there were no plans or funds in place for arrangements. Nor is there much to wrap up their piling debts. My mother (Janice Kahler-both uncle’s sister) and I are now left to handle everything:

• Executing Wendy's final wishes

• Traveling to Georgia to retrieve their belongings from 2 storage units

• Bringing back whatever we can to Michigan

• Helping settle my Uncle Tom's affairs, possibly both uncles

• Providing support to the children in this transition

We are doing all we can, but we simply don’t have the financial means to cover these unexpected costs. If you are able to donate—even a small amount—it would truly help lift a burden off our family during this time of heartbreak.
