My name is Salma, and just a few months ago, my fiancé Yassin and I were planning our future together. We were preparing our home, dreaming of our wedding, and looking forward to building a life filled with love and hard work. But in an instant, everything we had was destroyed.

Yassin, a passionate and hardworking chef, spent years perfecting his craft, creating dishes that brought people together. I, a dermatologist, had just opened my own skin clinic—a dream I had worked tirelessly to achieve. But in an instant, it was all gone. Our home was reduced to rubble, our workplaces destroyed, and our lives uprooted.

With nowhere left to turn, we were forced to leave Gaza, but our hearts never did. We dream of returning, of rebuilding our home, and of reopening our places of work—not just for ourselves, but for our community. Gaza needs healing, and we want to be part of that healing. Yassin wants to cook again, bringing warmth and nourishment to those who need it most. I want to treat patients again, offering care and comfort in a place where so many have suffered.
