This restaurant is not just a business—it’s all my dream, all my life.
We are two Asian women running a small Thai restaurant, Bangkok Blvd, in Edmonds, WA. We have always paid our rent and NNN/CAM in full, but we were suddenly charged an additional $700/month for “excessive water usage.”
We originally filed a dispute in Small Claims Court over an unfair charge. In response, our landlord escalated the matter by filing for eviction in Superior Court.
We had to face the case without a lawyer. Because of that, the court ruled a default judgment against us—not because we failed to pay rent, but simply because we didn’t have legal representation.
Since then, the landlord has agreed to negotiate. They dropped the water charges, but we are still being held responsible for covering all of their attorney fees, which total $8,534.75. This does not include the cost of our own legal representation.
As a small business in today’s tough economy, this unexpected burden has been overwhelming. We have poured everything into building our dream, but these heavy legal costs are now standing in the way of our future.
This GoFundMe is to help us raise the funds we need to pay these attorney fees, resolve the case, and rebuild with hope.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference and give us the chance to keep our dream alive.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
