Help Us and Our Kitties Restart Our Lives

Hello, thanks for stopping by. I'm not one to ask people for help, so this is hard for me to do - but here goes. A little back story: my fiancé and I are really having a tough time right now. We were wrongfully evicted from our apartment because our private landlords claimed they didn't receive half of the rent payment I sent one month via Venmo. They evicted and sued us all without our knowledge. We didn't even get the fair chance to fight in court because we weren't aware of the court date since the sheriff's office served us "by mail." We ran our business from home and received shipments daily and never got anything. We were uprooted, our whole lives, and had to vacate in under a week.

We have two kitties. Riley is the big sister to Sue (a boy named Sue tribute and play on name thanks to Mr. Cash). Riley is a drama queen, is always hungry, and doesn't like really anything that moves or makes noises. Sue is an orange handful that will talk your ear off; he hates forced cuddles but is a cuddle monster if he initiates the cuddle protocol.

Back to our situation... We got uprooted from the place we called home. Our kitchen where I loved to cook. Our living room where we loved to relax after a long day of work. Our office where we both had gaming computers and ran a successful eBay store. All gone in less than a week.

We moved most everything into storage and we and the kitties found an extended stay. Our kitties are registered Emotional Support Animals, and that fact is important because after one week things were looking great and we were on a good track and making progress. Time came to re-up our stay for the week and I went down to the office to do so. 20 minutes later, after paying nearly $400, the manager knocks and demands to do a 'safety check.' She violates our privacy and enters the room and then rages and kicks us out because we have our ESA kitties in the room (that are well trained and don't bother anything). She was very unprofessional and still has not refunded us for the whole week we paid for and didn't get to use.

In the midst of it all, the crazy manager lady called the local police. They arrived and we were making trips to the car with our belongings. The power-hungry city cops felt threatened by my 140-pound fiancé as he was walking by and threw him against the wall, cussing in his face, and then unlawfully detaining him.

Thankfully, my fiancé was set free and we were able to get to another motel, albeit more expensive.

So here we are today, working 14-18 hour days delivering with Amazon and DoorDashing to people who almost certainly never tip. Our savings, albeit not a lot to begin with, has been drained. We are hemorrhaging money every day paying for a hotel room daily, having to eat out because we can't cook, gas prices way up; it's hard to get our feet under us.

All that and to top it off, the dealership that we bought our car through is threatening repossession even after they know our situation and we mutually agreed to push back our due date.

It's a very, very tough road right now. To make matters worse: we just had to spend $1000 on a major car repair.

The sad thing is, we've already been through so much. We had to relocate last year due to reasons surrounding my job, and we struggled for a while. We were on the verge of having our feet under us, we were living comfortably. Bills were paid, food on the table, and we were starting to build a savings pile. Our eBay store (and adjacent Whatnot live auction store) was taking off and was becoming a main source of income. Then bam, all gone.

Thankfully we have found a landlord that is willing to give us a chance but we need $2400 to move in. It's hard to save that much and we need it by May 1st.

So I go back to the beginning. I don't like to ask for help. I don't know how to do it well. But anything you can give us in our time of need will help tremendously. Anything we receive will go towards moving in. Our goal is to get settled in as soon as possible so we can get back to 'normal.'

Thank you!
