I'm Seth and my wife is Leticia :) we got married in December of last year. We're enjoying married life!

On February 22nd, 2026, I walked out our front door to see a KITTEN on the ledge of our empty chicken coop! She saw me a freaked out lol! Ran off like I was a monster!

When she ran off, I could see that her tail had been completely mangled. The poor girl must have gotten it ran over or caught in something because there is no muscle or skin left at all... just bare bone. Her tail is completely rotten and dead.

I knew when I saw her tail that we had to help her in some way, but we NEVER expected her to befriend all of our other cats in no time at all!

We fed her for a while and finally got her inside! She instantly came and rubbed up on our "Papa Bear". He loves every cat he meets so we kinda expected them to be friends, but in 5 minutes?? It was the easiest introduction ever! And instead of hiding and hissing at us, she was rubbing up on our feet and licking our hands by day 2! She's already our baby girl!

It's quite apparent that she will need a tail amputation, so we've been calling her Nubsie! She's gonna have a nub lol! But she's also losing hair and thinning on her back :(

Unfortunately, we aren't in a position to afford her surgery right now. She deserves a pain free and healthy life, and we would love to be able to give it to her. We just need a little bit of help.

We've been quoted between $1100 and $2000 depending on how severe the damage is, and surgery costs will need to be paid upfront. We just can't afford it at the moment.

At the moment, we've decided that if we can't afford her surgery by April 20th, we will surrender her to the Oregon Humane Society of Salem so that she can get the care she deserves. It will be sad to lose our girl, but we'd rather her be healthy.
