Help Ignacio Castro Moroyoqui Fight Cancer

Hello everyone,

Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits. My father, Ignacio Castro Moroyoqui, was recently diagnosed with Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) — a rare and aggressive cancer that has already spread to his liver, lungs and bones. It has been devastating to watch him decline so quickly. He is now in constant pain and has lost the ability to walk more than a few steps.

My dad is the most hardworking and kindhearted man I know. He’s worked in construction for over 20 years, since 1999, always providing for our family without ever asking for anything in return. He is not only an amazing father but also a loving grandfather to his only grandchild, Emma, who lights up around him. Throughout his life, he has helped others in need — now we are humbly asking for help in return.

Right now should have been a time of celebration for our family — I’m graduating from medical school this spring. But instead, we’re facing the unimaginable: making treatment decisions not based on what he needs but what we can afford.

Unfortunately, my dad has no health insurance, and due to his situation, we are unable to obtain coverage. All of his chemotherapy, labwork, imaging, and medications must be paid out-of-pocket, which could cost tens of thousands of dollars. At this time, my mom is also unable to work — she is now his full-time caregiver.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help cover:

- Chemotherapy and medical treatments

- Lab tests and port placement

- Home care needs and transportation

- Pain management and nutrition support

Ayuda a Ignacio Castro Moroyoqui a Luchar Contra el Cáncer

Hola a todos,

Nuestra familia está atravesando un momento muy difícil. Mi padre, Ignacio Castro Moroyoqui, fue diagnosticado recientemente con Cáncer de Origen Primario Desconocido (CUP), un tipo de cáncer raro y agresivo que ya se ha extendido al hígado, pulmones y huesos. Ha sido devastador ver cómo su salud ha empeorado tan rápidamente. Actualmente sufre de dolor constante y casi no puede caminar.

Mi papá siempre ha sido un hombre trabajador y de gran corazón. Ha trabajado en la construcción desde 1999, más de 20 años, siempre esforzándose por sacar a nuestra familia adelante sin pedir nada a cambio. Es un padre increíble y un abuelo amoroso para su única nieta, Emma. A lo largo de su vida, ha ayudado a muchas personas — ahora humildemente pedimos esa misma ayuda para él.

En este momento deberíamos estar celebrando en familia, ya que estoy por graduarme de la escuela de medicina. Sin embargo, estamos enfrentando una situación muy difícil, tomando decisiones médicas no basadas en lo que necesita, sino en lo que podemos pagar.

Lamentablemente, mi papá no tiene seguro médico, y por su situación actual no es posible obtener uno. Toda la quimioterapia, análisis, estudios e incluso los medicamentos tendrán que ser cubiertos por nuestra cuenta, lo cual representa un gasto muy alto. Mi mamá tampoco puede trabajar ahora, ya que se dedica por completo al cuidado de mi papá.
