My name is marlen and i am 23 yrs old and my friend is 22. I left a toxic household a year ago. I moved to Texas on September 2020 and things haven’t been okay since my friend, who I moved in with, have been struggling financially really really bad. I had my mom help us back in Illinois but we got thrown out bc of internal issues her and her bf were having with me. Regardless, I’m still grateful for the little time she accepted us. Right now we are living with her dad trying to earn enough for an apartment. We are currently working and paying him rent which makes things so much harder to work with. For a while my friend was the only one that was working and I was unemployed bc of issues I had with my work permit and couldn’t work until now. Im currently working with a friend cleaning houses since my work permit is expired and can’t be accepted anywhere. I’m also hoping to renew it as fast as I can to work much more than now. I also hope to move up and find a small space for us and our 2 pets. As in now, my friends dad is asking for us to move out since his lease in his apartment is over on December 31st and can’t seem to find anywhere to go and we’re currently trying to find a room for both. The amount that we’re asking I can renew my work permit and are able to pay for any sort of deposit that they’re asking for a room in the area that we are living at and pay off any other expenses that have to do with our bills and emergency expenses only. This money will also be used to be able to buy our puppy’s & kitten’s food. My permit would cost at least $800 since the gov fee would be $495 and i would have to get a lawyer to be able to do all the paperwork, which again, they will ask at least $800 and a rush fee since it’s so urgent for me to obtain it. Things seem really difficult to get through but I have faith that it’s only temporary and we’ll be able reach our goals. I promise that anything helps us, whatever that it is,  just reading it and sharing it is enough for us. I’ll always be grateful for any gestures.
