Hi there,

My name is Miles and my spouse and I are asking for help in being able to get a car to replace our current one. About 2 years ago, I bought our current car to be able to handle mountain weather for where we were moving for my new job at the time. Barely even a year into owning it, the wheel bearings failed and we had to fix those, but now the head gasket has blown, damaging the engine and the repairs cost more than what the car is even worth as we were advised a new engine would be likely needed.

The car itself is showing other various problems (engine stops working while driving, brakes freeze/stiffen and won't stop the car) and we don't feel safe driving this car anymore, even if we replaced the engine. We live in a very rural area where the nearest other towns are at least 35 miles away, and transportation is critical for us to be able to get supplies and groceries, as well as access medical care that we can't go without.

Simply put, we cannot go about our lives without a car, so we are in trouble.

We are hoping to raise money so we can replace the car and have something safe to drive again. We still owe quite a bit of money on this car and are trying to offset the loss without going into extreme debt.
