Hello! My name is Ursula and I am the luckiest mother of one super intelligent beautiful sweet amazing son, as well as blessed enough to be pregnant with another little amazing addition to our family! My family and I are here asking for help moving. The new owners of the apartment in the house we’ve lived in for almost 10 years are kicking us out to do a quick flip renovation and want to charge 3x the rent. It is unaffordable to us at that price point, but it is what most of the places around us are doing. We can not afford to live paycheck to paycheck barely making it as the cost of living is increasing so rapidly around us. We are however so fortunate in that we have a home to land in, a family home being left to us from my grandmother. It will allow us to actually be able to save and build a much brighter future for our children as well as raising them outside of the city in a nature filled environment. There are so many blessings. The only thing is the new home is states away from our current NC home. The house we live in now only gave us 30 days notice and we are struggling coming up with the funds to complete this move and also to fix what needs fixing in the house in Louisiana in order for us to move in. As I said I have a 14 month old son who needs constant care and am also currently pregnant so I am physically more limited than I usually am to just handle everything in this move on my own. There is also the need for appliances at the new house such as a refrigerator and a hot water heater and a stove and an air conditioner, which there are hookups for all of that, but as of right now there are zero working appliances. The cost to move our whole house full of stuff is also so much more than what we have saved especially including gas and on top of that my truck needs a new starter before we leave or I won’t be able to drive all of our belongings. It’s a lot in the moment, when it rains it pours as they say. But at the same time I know that beautiful bright days and adventures are ahead for my family and me when we get to our new home.
