*UPDATE* [1/31/26] We’re opening! Now with these funds we have been able to open our doors for 2/6/26!

but the jobs not finished.. most of the funds went to owed rent, payroll & other fixed expenses we had to cover over the last two weeks. We now have to get back on our feet, clean, organize, replenish inventory and much more. We still need your help! We’ll still continue to fundraise through at least the month of February to give us a strong start before the Spring.

[1/14/26] Thank you for taking the time to read this. No, this isn’t the end of Uptown Gaming—but we do need your help. It’s been a wild ride, and we’ve been in this endeavor for almost two years. While it feels like longer, we’re still relatively young and figuring things out as we go. Many of you know we’ve been around for years before our Uptown Gaming location, cultivating the gaming community across the tri-state area, working with local bars, coffee shops, GameStops, schools, and more.

In May 2024, after a year of a grueling and stressful search for a property, we were presented with an opportunity to acquire a failing business, turn it around, and brand it as our home. We took a leap of faith and poured everything we had into construction, fixing major structural issues, licenses, plumbing, electrical—you name it. Everything we could do ourselves, we did. We literally put together, with our hands, blood, sweat, and tears, the Uptown Gaming you know today. We don’t have a series of mysterious owners or investors with deep pockets; everything has been funded and operated by Angel, Jenny, and Luiggi. We’re just like you, doing our best with what we have.

This location has been very difficult. Whether it was our HVAC system blowing up during our first summer, heavy flooding in our basement during downpours, electrical issues, or critical equipment breaking down, we got through it and moved forward. We didn’t give up. Even when we didn’t have the means, we always found a way—even if it meant taking every last cent from our personal pockets to make sure we survived and continued to build this community. We are operating this ship, but ultimately, our community and those who show up to our events, parties, and on a regular basis are what make this place truly special.

This past winter has kicked us in the teeth. Unexpected expenses in November and December set us back, and we haven’t been able to recover. We’re temporarily closing the doors while we raise funds to catch up on rent, payroll, and other operational expenses. We have a lot of amazing things in store for you, and we would love the opportunity to showcase them. We need your support to help us reopen and continue serving the Uptown Gaming community.
