Help us survive until Disability starts

Until a month ago I was a happy and productive owner operator and the sole support of myself and my 19 year old daughter who just completed her freshman year at ETSU, but all that changed when I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma Esophageal Cancer last month. My cancer is Stage III and I will be starting chemo/radiation this week and hopefully surgery soon. Thankfully my medical treatment are covered by the VA, but I've been told that it will probably be at least 7 months before my Disability Social Security begins, and I have no other source of income. I've never been in this situation before, and hate to have to ask for help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
