Hi everyone, I'm Anita Shrestha.
I have been living and studying in the USA for three years now. I graduated with an MFA in Graphic Design from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, in May. I'm currently doing an unpaid internship and seeking jobs.
During this pandemic, life presented unexpected challenges. I'm on a J1 visa and want to apply for a waiver to remove a two-year home return. This waiver would allow me to gain some experience here in the States. Studying for three years was fruitful, but the work experience I wanted seems impossible due to the pandemic.
With the help of a family friend, I got to know an immigration lawyer who seems very understanding and can help me with my situation. I have not been able to give him the green light because of a lack of funding. I do have some savings for my rent and utilities but can't afford my lawyer $3000. My parents are not able to send me money due to the lockdown. Plus, Nepal's bank situation makes it difficult to send money quickly, and since I am not a student anymore, it is nearly impossible to send money.
I am writing to ask for your help. Can you contribute to my lawyer's fee? I would appreciate your support, time & money. I will be forever grateful to you all.
