My name is Unique Rodriguez and I am the founder and lead swim instructor of Sankofa Swim School. I am raising funds to be able to expand and grow my program this summer. I am a current graduate student at Georgia State University studying Creative and Innovative Education, Georgia State is also where I received my undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Education. I have been a swim instructor for over 8 years and running my own program for two. This year will be my third year and I would like to expand and grow by installing an above ground pool in my own backyard and buying a portable bathroom for families to change and use the restroom. By having this in my own backyard it eliminates relying on others for pool service and ensure that lessons stay affordable and accessible for my students.

This year I have taken the steps to raise money and support by applying for Georgia State's Main Street Funds. In this program I will gain financial support in a payment of $1,000 towards my business, as well as a mentor and access to resources to help expand and grow.

In the link here you will be able to view the video I submitted in round two of the Main Street Fund, as well as Sankofa Swim School's current business plan. I am currently in the final and third round and will find out if I am selected in the coming weeks.
