HELP UNHOUSED CORVALLIS NEIGHBOR SECURE HOUSING!!

Hello y’all, we’re looking to raise money on behalf of a local unhoused friend in order for her to be able to secure more stable, safe housing. For her safety and privacy, we're only giving out minimal information. She’s been unhoused for almost 3 years in Oregon and on and off before. During this time, she’s been living in tents, contributing to her dental and physical pains. She has also been dealing with an abusive ex-husband who stalks and harasses her regularly. He has gone into her tent at night and stolen things, dropped large items on the tent to harm her while she’s sleeping, and threatened to bury her alive. He has spiked her food and destroyed her tent (as shown above) and likely will do further harm. This fundraiser is for an apartment she's scoped out for a while and will need help with the first of the month and her security deposit. It would allow her peace of mind, safety, shelter from the elements, and a chance to get back on her feet and out of survival mode. We all deserve safety, compassion, and our human needs met.

She is currently looking to get back into school, looking for a computer suited for a degree in business and possibly Psychology. In her free time, she’s working on writing a book she hopes to have published one day, makes an impressive cheesecake, and has a million hopes and dreams for her, her grandchildren, and the community she’s built with other unhoused folks in Corvallis. We all need help from friends sometimes so we can help friends later, and this is one of those times.

Any amount we raise over the goal will go directly to her to spend on security cameras, food, clothing, and whatever she chooses that makes her life safer and more comfortable. We believe in mutual aid not charity and part of that is allowing people to choose for themselves what is most beneficial, rather than assuming we know what’s best for them. As she put it a hand up not a hand out so that she can give herself and family a better life.
