Hi,

We are starting this fundraiser for one of our key employees who is recovering on dialysis. Carmen Antonio Villarreal Chan (the one in the middle), who we call Uncle in-house, has been with our restaurant since 2003, back when it was called Bodega Bistro operating on Larkin.

When Bodega SF opened as a popup inside Rooster & Rice 6 years later, he graciously accepted working for us again. If you have ever ordered from Bodega, he has most likely had a hand in preparing your meal.

When Uncle first told us he wasn't feeling well and had to take the next day off, we knew something was wrong. Uncle is one of the hardest workers we have seen and has never called off.

On the weekend of 12/18/21 he was hospitalized.

The good news is that Uncle is up and slowly recovering. But unfortunately, he currently cannot work and needs financial assistance. He is going to have one of his kidneys removed in the following month. We have given him what we can and humbly ask anyone to spare some funds to help his recovery be a little more comfortable.
