Dear Friends and Kind Strangers,
Many of you know him as ‘Uncle Kevin,’ the warm and welcoming tour guide who made every journey special. To my sister Amber and me, he’s simply ‘Dad.’
Recently, our fun loving Dad suffered a heart attack on the very first day of a long-awaited guided tour in Japan—a trip where he finally got to be the passenger, not the guide.
What was meant to be a ten-day adventure in beautiful Japan turned into a week-long hospital stay. Dad underwent a stent procedure, numerous tests, and bloodwork, all while navigating the complexities of the Japanese healthcare system with minimal assistance due to language barriers.
We are profoundly grateful to the EMTs, hospital staff, doctors, and nurses in Japan who saved Dad’s life and cared for him until he was stable enough to fly home. Their extraordinary skill and compassion gave us back our father.
Now, Amber and I are reaching out to you. We’ve created this GoFundMe to humbly ask for your support. No donation is too small; every bit helps and collectively, we can make a significant impact in covering these unexpected out of pocket expenses.
Dad is starting a new chapter in his life, one that involves managing a permanent heart condition and ongoing medication.
We hope and pray that he can do this with all the love and support he deserves. We want to help him begin this journey by alleviating as much of the financial burden as possible, allowing him to focus on rest, recovery, and love.
