Uncle Kev v BHP - Protecting Country Fighting Fund

Please donate to the fighting fund to help Arabunna elder Uncle Kevin Buzzacott protect his country from BHP's water use at Olympic Dam and to stop mining threats at Lake Eyre by Rio Tinto.

 

Arabunna elder Uncle Kevin Buzzacott has been fighting to protect his country from the threats of the nuclear industry for decades. The pipeline into Arabunna country extracts 43 million litres of water a day for the mine, this is destroying the sacred sights of the mound springs. It will poison the water, the land and his ancient culture.

 

On top of this, Lake Eyre is under threat from mining companies too.

South Australia is a big place. It's expensive to get around. We're hoping to raise funds for travel for community education and empowerment and to make Uncle Kev's life a little bit easier. He surely deserves it.
