Uncle Eddie, my Godfather, is a former veteran and retiree who recently returned to Mississippi, the home of his youth. After purchasing his only house a couple of years ago, he spent much of his time helping his children and grandchildren during the school months in the Midwest. While he was away, tragedy struck—his home in Mississippi burned completely down, and he lost everything. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the devastation means Uncle Eddie must start over again in his seventies.

Uncle Eddie has always been a constant giver. As part of the great migration in the 1960s, he sent funds to help his family of thirteen and, throughout the years, has consistently contributed to his family, church, and community. Now, he faces the daunting task of rebuilding his life from scratch. The funds raised will help him rebuild his home, replace all the contents he lost, and cover travel expenses as he moves between Michigan and Mississippi to put his life back together.
