Help Us Support Darcy in His Fight Against Prostate Cancer
Darcy has always been more than just a beloved uncle—he’s been a source of strength, kindness, and unwavering love for everyone fortunate enough to know him. He is a proud father to a beautiful blended family with 13 children and 24 grandchildren. Now, Darcy needs our support as he faces one of the toughest battles of his life.
In June, Darcy was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While his doctors remain optimistic about his treatment plan, the financial burden of medical care has become overwhelming. The staggering costs have made him question whether he can continue treatment.
As you can imagine, this is devastating to all of us who love him. Darcy is the kind of person who would never ask for help, no matter how much he needed it. But we can’t let him face this alone. Reluctantly, he’s agreed to let us step in and help ease the burden so he can focus on healing and staying strong for his family.
We are humbled to share an update with all the incredible people who have shown Darcy and Cheryl such overwhelming love and support. Whether through your prayers, kind words, sharing their story, or financial contributions, your generosity has truly been a lifeline for them during this challenging time. Darcy wanted us to convey his deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. When presented with the cash donations and the contributions made through GoFundMe, both Darcy and Cheryl were overcome with emotion and wept tears of gratitude. Your kindness has given them not just financial help but also hope and strength to keep moving forward.
Total raised so far: $9,555.00 (GoFundMe and cash donations combined).
New goal: $30,000 to cover the urgent medical procedures Darcy needs.
Right now, Darcy urgently needs a procedure to break up calcium in his prostate area. This procedure costs $30,000 and is not covered by insurance. His doctors are doing everything they can, appealing to the insurance company and resubmitting the claim, in hopes of having it reconsidered. If approved, it could significantly reduce the cost potentially.
Time is critical, as the cancer has not yet spread beyond the prostate. If insurance approves the calcification treatment, Darcy can move forward immediately. His doctors are optimistic.
In addition to this, Darcy has been referred to a specialist in Edmonton, Canada. The referral, imaging, and necessary reports have already been sent. While we don’t yet know how long the wait will be, we are hopeful that this alternative will provide another path to treatment.
Your support means everything to Darcy and Cheryl. Every prayer, every share, and every dollar donated is a step closer to life-saving treatment. Your kindness reminds them that they are not alone in this battle and that they have a community of people standing beside them.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Together, we are not just helping Darcy fight cancer—we are giving him hope for a healthier future.
